The Jews of Yemen: The Last Generation

Renowned photographer Zion Ozeri -- himself a Yemenite Jew -- has brought together more than 20 years of photographs of Yemenite Jews, in both Israel and Yemen. The photos cover daily life and religious life; but mostly they bring people to life with beautiful and sensitive photography. An introductory essay by the author tells the story of his own family which made aliyah to Israel along with 50,000 others in "Operation Magic Carpet" in 1948-50.
