With this volume, the Me'Am Lo'ez series begins its commentary on the second section of the Bible-the Prophets. Of these books, the Book of Joshua is unique in that, as the Talmud states: "Had the Jewish people not sinned, they would have received only the Five Books of Moses and the Book of Joshua."
