BACH - Rabbi Yoel Sirkes

Rabbi Yoel Sirkes (1561-1640), better known by the acronym Bach, was one of the foremost talmudic scholars and halakhists of Poland. This volume describes the life and personality of rabbi Sirkes as well as that of the community of which he was a part.

The book also carefully analyzes Rabbi Sirkes role as a halakhic decisor in his responsa and commentaries, and presents a translation and analysis of an important lost responsum.
