There is a lot that Bentzi B’simchah is not b’simchah about. How is it fair that Baila is the only one in the family to receive a new winter coat? And why should his big sister Bina get to stay up late if he can’t? And why is little Bassi the only one in the family who gets to ride in the comfy carriage?
Then Bentzi sees that there are lots of things that only he gets—and not necessarily anyone else in the family. He begins to realize something:
Every child in the family is special and dear,
And for each one’s own needs their parents do care.
There's no reason to be jealous of a sister or brother,
'Cuz we all have our own needs—not those of another.
