The verse “And I will be betrothed to you forever” reminds us that in our beloved there is always something unfamiliar to us, which is alien to us. This allows to maintain between a man and a woman a youthful atmosphere of play and courtship, when from time to time they come back on a “date with a stranger” to discover unexpected sides in each other.
