Mystic Tales From The Emek Hamelech

Rabbi Naftali Hertz, the author of the Emek HaMelech was born in a small city in the German Rhineland called Bacharach in a prominent Rabbinic family.

At a young age he became acquainted with the teachings of Kabbalah and traveled to Israel to study directly from the great teachers in the Holy Land, students of the Arizal. Despite the fact he never met him in person, Rabbi Naftali would call the Arizal his master and teacher.

His most known book is the “Emek Hamelech / Valley of the King” a profound text of Kabbalistic wisdom and lore.

The Emek HaMelech besides being a profound work of Kabbalah, contains a wealth of spiritual stories embedded within the text which the author utilizes to illustrate or animate a particular point of of interest.

These stories are translated and given a commentary (based on the teachings of the text itself) in order to further elucidate their inner meaning.
