Enjoy stories and wonderful recollections as you tour the Shtetl’s of my life. Each story I tell has a Torah lesson we all can learn from and makes great table talk over a Sabbath or Yom Tov meal.
The book Take A Walk Through My Shtetl is full of Judaic stories and recollections of its author Eli W, Schlossberg. A Shtetl is a small little Eastern European town and Eli’s world in the USA is a world of being an Orthodox Jew with practices that were observed similarly back in the Shtetls of Europe. The Shtetl was a tight community a community of unity where all knew each family as they lived closely together all having in common their religious practice. While he resides in a large American city, he lives with parameters and practices that enclose his life in his own Shtetl.
The book is full of advice from a parent to his children and includes Jewish music, an important part of Eli’s upbringing. The writings give the reader an understanding of his religion and how he applies that religious life to his everyday life socially, to his business career and to raising a family.
The writings are taking the reader on a walk so the reader can experience the life of the author and clearly seeing and understanding his Shtetl life. Eli is a musician, a Judaic art collector, a writer and a community leader but with all that he is a proud member of his Shtetl and enjoys the close knit environment of his community.
